Trick or Treat

We had so much fun trick or treating tonight! R, Kb, Kg, Grandma, Auntie L, Cousin H, Cousin H's Auntie M, his Grandma and I went out in our neighborhood. We left Daddy at home to hand out candy, sorry you didn't get to go with Daddy...next year! It was so fun having all three of our kids running up to doors saying "Trick or Treat"! Kg had the most fun with it. She literally ran to a door, said "trick or treat" or "pease", go her candy, said "thank you" and took off running for the next house. We do have to teach her to mind her manners. At one house she ran up, said "trick or treat", they held out a basket of bags of chips and told her to pick one. She picked up the chips, looked at them, said "hmm, no" put them back and went running for more candy at the next house. Chips weren't what she was looking for. She always had candy in each hand and an open sucker. She was a stick mess after an hour of this. Kb also enjoyed himself. He loved the decorations in the yards more than the candy. One neighbor had two boys crawling around the yard trying to scare the kids. Kb saw them, ran up to one and jumped right on his back...he wasn't quite scared! R had more fun handing out candy than trick or treating...that is her favorite part of Halloween(was last year too)!

Our Favorite Pumpkin Farm

We finally went to visit our favorite pumpkin farm today! Hey, it is Halloween so it is a fitting day to visit:) R had dress up day at school so all three kids wore their costumes(or most of them...minus head pieces and gloves for all). Kg hanging out

Happy Birthday Kb and Kg

Wow, you are 2! Time goes to fast. I have been thinking of my favorite qualities about each of you. There are so many,but instead of going on forever I just picked five...

Kb

1. Giving-you always make sure Kg has a cup, snack, toy, lovey or whatever else you think she will need. If you notice one of your sisters without their blanket or stuffed animal and you have one, you share yours.

2. Orderly-you are very good at putting toys away in their proper places and helping unload the

dishwasher. You don't like things out of place, which is fine with me!

3. Shy-you don't say hi to just anyone. You save your charm and smile for the special people in

your life.

4. Sweet-you love giving hugs and kisses. You are just a cuddler and sweetheart.

5. Daring-you will climb anything. You are constantly getting on top of toys, tables and even the rock wall on the swing set for months now. I worry you are to daring and are going to get seriously hurt one of these days!

Kg

1. Loving-you are a kind loving little girl. You give kisses and hugs all the time.

2. Animal Lover-you love animals. You are constantly carrying a plastic animal around with

you. Around the house and wherever we go. If you see an animal you don't know you say, "what is that" and remember what we told you. Your newest animal discovery is snakes.

3. Outgoing-you will talk, wave and say hi to anyone. You just love to make new friends and visit 'the guys' at dh's work. You will walk in the office and start asking questions or visiting with whoever is there.

4. Girly/Dirty-you love to get dressed up in dress up dresses, shoes, necklaces all the time. It is so fun to see you dolled up in your heels and tiaras. Once you are dolled up it is time to go out and get dirty. You just love wearing a Cinderella dress, Dorothy shoes while rolling through the mud(literally). We are curious if the girly/tomboy combination will stick with you as you grow!

5. Talkative-you talk nonstop. You have so much to say and speak so clearly. Anything we say to you, you repeat it and remember the names of everything. It is just amazing how much you know and say.

Kb and Kg...you two bring so much joy to our lives. Mommy, Daddy, and R are so thankful you were born so healthy and strong. You truely are our second and third miracles:)

R's First Halloween Party

R went to her first Halloween Party for just 'big kids' tonight! She had so much fun playing with all her old and new friends...

Dinner Mishap

Standing in Pick N Save on Sunday dh was complaining at the cost of a turkey breast, saying he could get a whole turkey for the same price. He said it just made more sense to get the whole turkey. To justify it he said we would make it this week and have my dad over for dinner since my mom is out of town...six of us can eat a 14pound turkey? I explained that I have never made a turkey and don't have the faintest idea of how to do it. I show up for Thanksgiving dinner with a side dish and enjoy the turkey someone else has made. Last night he got it ready and told me to turn the nesco on this morning. I figured how hard is that to do? Well, this morning at 7:30 I rushed to get the turkey from the refrig and on figuring turkeys seem to take all day to cook. I checked it this morning and it looked good so I let it go. I looked at lunch time and it was cooking well so I turned it down. Then, things took a turn for the worse. I should also mention the turkey was on a table in the garage so the kids wouldn't mess with the nesco controls or get hurt. This made it easier to forget. When I remembered, at 3pm, we had a nicely done turkey...for a 5:30 dinner. I turned it off thinking it would stop/or slow down the cooking process. At 4:15 I realized it was getting dry and I needed to do something. I cut up the turkey and put it the warming drawer of the oven thinking that would work okay for a while. Long story not so short, at 5:30 we had a nicely overdone turkey. We were thankful for the stuffing, green been casserole, and squash we had for sides! I also pointed out to dh that he may not want to get a whole turkey next time if I am in charge of cooking...all I can handle is the turkey breast.

Fall Outdoor Fun

Fall is my favorite season. Days like today where the kids can play outside with all the freshly fallen leaves is so much fun(and the ones they make fall too)!

Leaf Painting

R and I painted some leaves on the patio door today. We plan to paint some more after we restock our craft closet...we are running low on paint! This cute idea came from fellow blogger, Giddy Goat...

Pumpkin Farm Visit With Our Friend A

We went to a great pumpkin farm with our friends A, her mommy and daddy today. It was so much fun! We hope to make this a yearly visit(if A and her parents are up for it:) R had so much fun with A's mommy and daddy today! A's mommy gave her piggy back rides:) A's daddy watched pig races, gave her a quarter for animal food and took her to see whatever she wanted to look at:) We know who R will ask to call if we need a sitter for her! Soccer with Cousins B and M

We went north Friday night to stay over and see our cousins play soccer Saturday. I should say we went for dh and I to watch what we could of soccer games while the kids ran around and played on the playground! It was a fun visit for all of us:) I don't have any pictures of the girls playing soccer since my camera battery ran out of juice after these were taken...oops. A Visit to the Petting Farm

I am a little late posting this. We went to a petting farm last weekend. We all had a great time...there were all kinds of animals to pet and hold, pumpkins to pick, pony rides and hayrides!

Antique Farm

Grandma and I took the kids to McDonalds(yes, one with a playland) and to an 'antique farm'...
They have some of the coolest buildings full of any and all types of antiques, garden art and whatever else you could think of finding. I can see Grandma living here and creating beautiful gardens everywhere! My favorite piece of art...

It was a great day to get out and do some treasure hunting today. We didn't make many purchases. Most items we liked were a little pricey to put away for the next few months. R had so much fun going in all the buildings and exploring!
