R Lost Her First Tooth!

R lost her first tooth!!! Not great pictures, it was right after baths and it kept bleeding. For the past week the tooth has gotten looser and looser. It was finally time to give it a pull. Here is R's version of the events(I wrote down what she said to Grandma on the phone)..
"Mommy pulled out my tooth. It has blood on it so Daddy washed it off for me and I put it in my tooth fairy pillow. I have a tooth fairy pillow like B and M (her cousins) have. I have a new tooth coming in too!" Imagine an over excited five year old voice telling what happened!

She has the cutest tooth fairy pillow...
If you look close you can see her little tooth in the pocket...

We told R that the tooth fairy would bring her money. She said she didn't want money, she wanted a present instead. She came in our room at 4:45am yelling, "the tooth fairy came"! The tooth fairy left her a butterfly ice pack for her cold lunch so she doesn't have to use the boring blue one anymore, a fairy toothbrush and a paint a windchime kit (the tooth fairy had no idea what to bring...it was assumed that $5 was the usual gift for the first tooth).

Discovery World

We took a trip to the Discovery World on this rainy, icky day. We bought a year pass off of a local radio station website a couple months ago. We got the season pass for half price, which was less than it would cost for our family of five to go once! We had a great time there today and will get a lot of use out of our pass...

The kids loved the aquarium and fish tanks!Kb is in the potty during this picture..I didn't leave him out on purpose and yes, R had to bring her naked baby in

Kg was afraid to step on the clear steps. She thought she would fall in the water so I had to hold her hand(this is taken right before she freaked out that I was 'so far ahead of her'). She doesn't usually step this carefully!
They had a blast in the submarine...

All three loved checking out the ship and 'cooking' in the kitchen...

We checked out the Technology Area...

Got Botox...

...in R's Leg!
We went to see R's CP doctor today. R did a great job at the doctor's office today. After a 45minute wait to get in the room and then another 15minute wait in there for the doctor. The doctor is very nice and very patient, worth the wait! We were told when we were there in May that if R had a growth spurt we may need to do botox injections (and possibly serial casting) to help her ligaments stretch more. Today she said that R did have a signifigant growth spurt and that we 'could hold off' on the botox for a few months to see. If we did wait, we risked the chance of waiting to long and 'missing the opportunity' which would mean serial casting with the botox. That is something we definately don't want to have to do. We decided to go ahead with the botox today. It was our first time seeing a vial of botox. I never thought I would see so a viial worth so much money get put in my 5yr olds leg! R did a great job and got a shot, which means she got to pick a prize from the 'prize closet'. Shocking...she chose this puppy. She loves her stuffed animals. Oh, and we all left there convinced that we need a fish tank with a dinosaur that blows bubbles thanks to the tank in the waiting room...

Kb & Kg's Valentines

Yes, it is January. But we are getting a head start on Valentines! With three kids having to make them for school this year we need to start sooner than later. I like to have the kids make Valentines that they can help with. Kb and Kg made the crayon hearts this year. This is really one of my favorites and a fun one!

Kb, Kg and I took the paper off all of our old crayons and melted them. Kb has blue molds(Target dollar section this year) and Kg has pink molds(Target dollar section a few years ago). The final product are a little different. Kg's molds are a little smaller giving her hearts a thicker look. My pictures are out of order. The finished product!

I didn't want them to have the exact same Valentine. Kb has red suckers with red ribbon. Kg has pink suckers and pink ribbon. The cards say, "You Color My World" on one side and their nane on the other. It is crayon, paper, crayon strung(as if the crayons are holding the paper) on the ribbon and the sucker tied to then!

I am biased, but I think they turned out pretty cute!

Valentine's Cupcakes

We love to make cupcakes here so give us a holiday and we go with it! Grandma loves to indulge this kids in their cupcake making too(thanks for the supplies Grandma:)...

New Camera

My camera has seen better days. The battery compartment is cracked, the lense cover does not close and it is just beat up. It was my first digital camera! My mom and dad gave it to me for my 30th birthday when I was on bedrest with Kb and Kg:) Now it is R's camera...I don't think she can do to much damage to it!I checked the adds and saw the Sony Cyber-Shot on sale (which came highly recommended). I have two weeks to see if I like it, so far I do!

Coffee Filter Butterflies

We let the kids watch a show on TV at night after pajamas are on. One night R saw the lady on TV doing a project with a little boy. She said she wanted to try it also, so we did! We took coffee filters and painted them with water color paints. Once they dried we put a pipe cleaner around it for the antennas. It was simple and entertaining...

What a Toy...

I am having a love/hate relationship with this toy! Ava and her parents gave it to Kb & Kg for their birthday. The kids LOVE it! It is a fun toy..one child can play the piano while another one sings. Only, they play the piano loud and sing even louder! It is cute to watch them so it is a keeper(I just need to get that volume button stuck so they can't turn it up:)

Movie Night

We had movie night over the weekend! We decided to kick back with popcorn, Nemo and the cot beds the kids got for Christmas from Uncle T & Aunt J...

StoneFire Pizza

A couple weekends ago we decided to take the kids to Stone Fire Pizza. I always wondered if this was a place I could take all three kids on my own. Well, I don't think so. The kids were great and the place isn't overly large, but I can't do a buffet line with three kids alone...or I am not crazy enough to try!

We made a stop at Mayfair Mall and then went for lunch. Grandma went along for a little fun(Papa was out of town hunting)! R loved the kitchen room, Kb and Kg the climbing room...

Conferences

We had conferences today for all three kids(yes, Kb and Kg just started school two weeks ago)!
Kb and Kg's teacher was more concerned about how I was handling them starting school than how they are adjusting. She said they are doing great and were definately ready to start! I am adjusting very well to them being in school also:)

R's teacher said R is doing great! She can "hold her own" with gross motor activities according to her teacher. We were so excited to hear that!! Her fine motor skills are really progressing. She has come such a long way from the start of the school year! The highest compliment to dh and I came when R's teacher told us that, "R is very lucky to have you as parents". She said that all we are doing with R has really helped her progress this year. It was so great to hear that all the OT, ST, Handwriting Without Tears classes and lessons at home, night time stretching braces, gymnastics classes and visits with specialists are helping.

We are so thankful that we were blessed with three wonderful kids. We are definately a lucky Mommy and Daddy!

Snow snow and more snow!

Who would ever think we had to much snow to snowmobile?! Well, to much for a little Kitty Cat to make it through a foot of fluffy stuff!

Enough Snow?

I like winter, I do. I like winter for the first six weeks and then I am ready for spring. I have the same relationship with snow. The first snowfall is wonderful. The second I still enjoy, but when we get dumped with a foot of snow and our mailbox looks like this I've had enough... I can't say the same for R. She loves the snow and playing in it!

Marshmallow Snowmen

What do you do with left over halloween marshmallows? Well, we use them to make marshmallow snowmen! Found this cute idea on No Time for Flashcards site(they didn't call for halloween marshmallows, that was our improvising:)...

Kb & Kg's First Day of PreSchool

My pictures aren't so great. There is a big difference between a first day of school in September and one in January...50degrees!!!

Everyone survived the first day and I did get a lot of not so kid friendly errands done and some work too! It is nice to have time to work during the day and not at 8pm.

Dh went in to work late so he could take the kids to their firs day with me. We all dropped R off together and then went to Kb & Kg's classroom. Here they are in the parking lot getting ready to walk in...

I snapped a couple pictures while they played before we left...

At pickup, I asked the teacher if there were any issues. Considering Kg was wearing her extra pants over her tights and not her dress I assumed there was. Well, Kg isn't used to using little potties. She went on her own and did fine except that her dress fell in the toilet in the back. She did go get the teacher and say, "I made a mess, I need your help". She also did not want to wear the pants I sent, she told her teacher that "she no wear pants, only dresses". Yep, that is our Kg. She did wear pants though because her teacher told her it was cold outside(over her tights of course). I talked with the director later on Monday, she called about something else(not bad thankfully). She told me Kg was very quiet(shocking I know) and that Kb is "all boy". I asked if he was naughty and she said he wasn't, he is just a boy. What do you think that means? Hope he is a good boy!
Here they are walking out! They were as excited to see me as I was to see them! Grandma came with too and took Kg to work so I could take Kb to speech class. We then went out to lunch at Culvers. I think this is going to be a Monday tradition(going to lunch with Grandma I mean) since we have an hour inbetween Kb's speech class ending and R getting done with school.

The true test will be if Day #2 goes smoothly. We will see...
