Memorial Day Parade

The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example. Benjamin Disraeli We went to one of my favorite parades today, the local Memorial Day parade. The kids did a nice job of standing and clapping for the soldiers as they went by.

Kg also waved to everyone and loved seeing the princesses. She was excited to see the prince and princess drive past in their car(the King & Queen of a local senior citizen community)!

We even survived a little rain!

First Camping Trip of 2010

We went for our first camping trip of the season this weekend! It was also Grandma & Papa's 'Maiden Voyage' with their camper this weekend. We had a lot of fun, thank you for camping with us Grandma & Papa!!

We went to the Swimming Pond at the campground... R, our brave girl, was out on the mats and blow up contraptions jumping in!
I hung out in the shallow end with Kb & Kg..my kind of pond swimming until I am sure nothing odd is in the water:)

For a train ride...
R liked it so much she went for two rides!

Thankfully there was a dad standing next to Kb when he started to lean out the side after he fell asleep! Kg was so sweet and put her arm across Kb to try to hold him in place!
For way to many rides in the peddle cars...
This is much harder than it looks!
The kids bounced and bounced and bounced...
When this is full of kids it bounces so high! The kids loved it!!

We also took a trip to a State Park nearby...
Papa & Daddy took the kids for a ride around the lake(Kg decided to stay on dry land with Grandma & Mommy instead)
R was making a channel to the water. She had a lot of fun digging and building in the sand!

Kicking Queen!

Kb & Papa hanging out!
Kg taking Grandma for a trip to the water!
There were so many little fish in the water! Kyra had a blast pointing them out and looking at them!
Kb had a blast wading in the water!

R was checking out the fish! She was telling Kg & Kb that they are minnows in the water, they aren't just "fish"! There were so many, it was fun to see them all!

We made smores...
It isn't a camping trip without a campfire and smores! Minutes after taking this picture Kb took his marshmallows out of the fire and hit me in the arm with them on accident leaving me with a nice burn. Minutes after that Kg took hers out and had a marshmallow on fire. Grandma and I were helping her blow it out when she also wanted to help and she came close to R's hair, almost lighting it on fire. That was the end of smore making for the weekend!

Good Bye PreSchool...Hello Kindergarten!

R had her PreSchool Graduation Friday. She is officially on summer vacation!!! I am so excited for her to be able to have picnic lunches with Kb, Kg and I! She is so excited for Kindergarten in the fall and for a summer of fun! I need to figure out how to post video(and promise I will) to show some of her program at school. She was adorable! Here R is with her teachers, who she will definately miss. They were both so nice and wonderful to work with this year! Enjoy your summer ladies!!

Rainbow Cupcakes

Our oldest graduated from preschool! I am sad to see her grow up and happy for her because she is so excited to go to Kindergarten and ride the school bus to school. I signed up to bring a dessert to her graduation luncheon because I know Kb & Kg would want a sweet treat. With their allergies I needed to assure there would be one they could eat. We decided on rainbow cupcakes(to see the real deal go here..to see our version keep reading:). These were actually very easy to make and fun!
Kb didn't care to help so it was just the girls and I

I forgot to take a picture of our finished cupcakes with teal frosting and sprinkles. They were very pretty and tasted yummy!

Picnic Lunch & Park

Kb, Kg and I love venturing out to local parks and decided to have a 'picnic lunch' last week at one of our new favorites!

It was after gymnastics and not planned in advance, hence the 'picnic' of McDonalds.

Grandpa H

Grandpa H is still in the hospital not feeling well:( The kids wanted to get him some balloons. So, I took three kids each with their own little shopping cart to Sentry to pick out balloons. It was the first time I took all three to the store without anyone in a cart and they did wonderful(that doesn't mean I will do this every visit:). I told the kids to pick out whatever balloon they wanted Grandpa H to have. R picked the 'Puppy Thinking of You', Kb the 'orange'(three for the # of kids and orange his favorite color), Kg picked the 'Hope Your Feeling Better Soon Flower'. Get well Grandpa H and hope you are home soon!!

Pool Grand Opening!

Grandma & Papa opened the pool! They went out of town for the weekend and said we should enjoy it. Well, we felt a little guilty using the pool for the first time without them, but we still did it:) Some of you are reading this and questioning if I mean first time this year, but no I mean first time at all. Grandma & Papa had some problems with the old pool and took it out last fall and put in this new pool. Let me say it was a GREAT pool day!!! We had a blast, which is why I am posting so many pictures! I couldn't choose only a few...

After we had been swimming a few hours Grandma & Papa got home from Iowa. Uncle D, Auntie L and H also came to swim! It was a nice afternoon...

Thank you for a great day Grandma & Papa!!
