A Little This, A Little That Mid-August

This week...

R had a doctor visit.  Afterwards she went to dinner with her Dad.  He asked where she wanted to go and she picked the Texas Roadhouse!  Perfect restaurant to pick since Kb and Kg can't step foot in there with their allergies.  Can you see why....
 Peanuts, dinner and dessert!
On Friday we met some friends at a gorgeous beach in Kenosha(thank you for organizing Christina:)!  There was a cute ship to play in and this huge slide!  The beach was clean and the water was shallow forever.  So peaceful, I wish we had discovered this earlier this summer!  I didn't get any pictures once we hit the beach so this is all I have...

The American Girl dolls have went EVERYWHERE with us this week!  Even for walks...

Kanani spent some time in Kg's basket too!
Great weather, great week.  Our last full week of summer vacation:(

Irish Fest

We celebrated dh's Irish heritage Sunday at Irish Fest!  Irish food, music and fun...

 Dancing to some irish music!

R and Kb's First Packer Game

This year in Dh's family Packer ticket rotation he got the preseason tickets so we decided to take R and Kb(we only have four tickets so sadly we can't all go)!

R and Kb had a great time as did dh and I!!  It was a great game and the kids loved it!  R was cheering and yelling along with the rest of the crowd!  Kb got the hang of it too(after he told the woman sitting behind us that she "shouldn't say that" when she boo'd the other team;)  I think we have two kids that are going to be asking to go again!

Fun with Grandma & Grandpa H

Grandma H painted some super cute bird houses with the kids last week after Grandpa H had cut the wood out for them! Together, Grandma & Grandpa H assembled the houses for the kids. They were ready when we came over Friday!
They each made two(one to keep at home in our yard and one to give to someone they want to share their art with:). Thank you Grandma & Grandpa H for such a fun project, we love them!!!

**Grandma has more pictures I will try to upload...my computer is old and won't read the camera card**

Happy birthday Papa!

Dh asked Papa what he wanted for his birthday this year.  Papa got out a pen/paper and wrote down an idea for us...hunting socks.  Yep, socks.  Not normal socks though, 50% wool/50% cotton socks that were on sale at Gander Mountain last week per Papa.  Well, we went to Gander Mountain and there were no socks like that on sale and no 50/50 wool/cotton socks at all for sale at Gander Mountain!  The kids found other ideas for Papa...
R felt a pink cross bow was perfect.  Kb thought a camo popper gun was perfect. Kg thought a stuffed animal deer was perfect.  After 45minutes shopping for socks we left with two pair of hunting socks that were not exactly what Papa wanted and these...
Our neighbors must have thought we were even more crazy after this site...

The kids have been having a blast!  Only one incident.  R shot me between the eyes with a foam dart from her bow.  She said it was an accident and felt really awful, I highly doubt it was an accident.  Great aim though!  I didn't tell her that or laugh in front of her...I told her my feeling were hurt and reminded her how we NEVER aim guns or bows at people.  She got up Sunday and the first thing she did was give me a hug and said, "sorry I shot you in the head with an arrow yesterday".

Buddies

These two are the best of buddies.  Kg and Izzy play and argue like the best of friends.  Izzy puts up with a lot from Kg, but seems to miss her when she is gone.  I snapped this picture and thought it symbalized their love (and Izzy's tolerance) all wrapped in one photo!

Where Are We This Summer?!

Dh seemed shocked to hear that I had a summer blog!  Didn't he wonder why I wasn't posting all the fun we have been having this summer;)?!  Thought others may have been wondering the same so I thought I would link to it once more!

Traffic Jam

Grandma and Papa have the best traffic jam!  We literally had to wait a few minutes for the geese to cross the driveway, they were in no hurry.  The kids love looking at the geese, but Papa and Izzy don't agree.  They drive them crazy(Papa because of the geese poop all over the driveway and grass, Izzy because they are there and she just doesn't want them to be!)...we like them though:)

Camping with the S. Family!

It was a great weekend for camping(no rain!:)!  It was warm, but not the 100 degree weather we could have had.  The kids all played so nice together and we had a great time!!

Two 7yr olds, one 5yr old, two 4yr olds and a 10mth old = 4 tired parents at the end of the day(one of which was pregnant so she probably started the day tired!)!

I have been slacking on my picture taking this summer.  This weekend I forgot to take any pictures Friday night or to bring my camera with me Saturday to Devils Lake:(  We love Devils Lake and I think the S. family would agree that it is a great lake to take younger children to.  It doesn't get deep until you are out past the general swim area and it is fairly clear(it was cloudier than usual this weekend) so you can see the kids as they swim under water!

After Devils Lake we let the kids do some of the campground activities, it was Chocolicious Weekend...
Chocolate Wrestling!  Yep, it was as gross as it looks in pictures, but the kids loved it!
N(in the orange) is a wrestling champ!  He is really good and was a tough competitor.  The other kid didn't stand a chance!
A wanted to get in there and show what he can do, but the other boys were a couple years older than him.  Plus, the older boys were getting serious with it.  He did well and is a competitor!
Kg wrestled like a girl!  She was more into the fun of it than the actual wrestling!
R had fun with it, but wrestles in a girly way too!
Kb was more of a watch from the sidelines kind of guy!

The five...
Playground fun!

A chocolate slip and slide!
The younger three had to take a running 'slide' first...

then the sliding began!

Train ride!  This just doesn't get old for our three, every time we camp they are excited to go for a train ride around the campground!

Ice Cream Social!  Unlimited amounts of chocolate or vanilla ice cream with as many toppings as you want(or as many as mom and dad let you put on;)...always a hit!
We had an outdoor movie on the big screen at our campsite!  The kids were so tired Saturday night that Kb and R put themselves to bed not more than halfway into the movie, A fell asleep watching the movie, Kg went to bed before the movie finished too.  N was the only one to finish watching the entire movie!
R was so infatuated with Little R!  If I ever wondered where R was this weekend I just had to look for Little R and I was pretty sure to find her right there.  Feeding her a bottle, watching her eat her food and pushing her stroller...the highlights of R's weekend!  Little R is a cutie!
S Family, we hope you had as much fun camping as we did!  Let us know when you are ready to camp again:)
