Kg Cuteness!

You know Kg is tired when she has to hold her head up to eat ice cream!
You are a summer girl! I think you could live in a swim suit. Actually, you for the most part do!

Kb & His Papa

Kb and Papa are a lot alike. When Kb was born Auntie M walked in the room and said he looked just like his Papa. As he grew older everyone has said he looks like his Papa, but with blond hair. He even has some personality similarities to Papa...he can fall asleep anywhere, he is quiet(but observant), he loves to see how things work and his newest is he is amazed at how the corn has grown! Everytime we pass a corn field he points it out and comments on it(Papa grew up on a farm and notices the crops too).
Today at work, Kb took Papa's hand and said, "We walk Papa". They walked outside to check on the truck that was unloading, to see the other trucks moving across the street and to just see what was happening. I wish I had my camera in my hand then, it was precious!
In a few years I can see Kb climbing in the booster seat in Papa's truck and going out to check on what is happening in the countryside.

Happy Birthday R!

Happy Birthday R! It is hard to believe that you are six years old today. I get teary eyed thinking of how much you have grown up this past year. We are so proud of you R!!!
A few things about you and this past year...
*You graduated from Pre-K and are off to Kindergarten in the fall
*You decided on what you want to be when you grow up...a lunch lady
*You have become more independant and don't need mom or dad as much(which makes mom a little sad..it is hard for me to let you grow up)
*You love your brother and sister so much and are such a great big sister
*You are a sweet, caring and loving girl
*You are very friendly and kind to others. You can walk in a room full of kids you don't know and find someone to play with instantly
*You have no fear in the water. You will jump in and swim like a champ making us nervous, but having fun

I have always said you came in to this world with an angel watching over you and you have shown that angel and everyone that you are a fighter. You are a ray of sunshine in our world R and we love you so much! Happy Birthday to our first born, R!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! We love you Daddy, Papa and Grandpa H and hope you all enjoyed your special day!!

Daddy-We are so lucky to have a Daddy who enjoys playing ball in the yard, going swimming a lot, taking us fishing and thinks the perfect weekend is a weekend spent with us!

Papa-We love that you will push us on the swings whenever we ask you to. That you drop what you are doing to take us for golf cart rides when we call and ask during the day, and that you always have chocolate bars waiting for us in the office!

Grandpa H-We have so much fun hanging out on the front porch with you and running around the back yard!
Today, we celebrated Father's Day with both of our families with brunch at our house. It was very relaxing...we ate great food, drank bloody marys and mimosa and just sat on the patio visiting. The kids played in the water slide R got for her birthday and in the yard. Thank you to everyone that came over to visit!

Afterwards dh asked if we could take a trip to Bass Pro Shop, he couldn't wait to go shop for a new creole(did I spell that right?..the wicker basket that holds fish) that the kids had given him a gift certificate for today! He also said the kids would love to see the fish, which they did! He also told the kids that we could go to our favorite ice cream shop after dinner and how can I say no to that, it is his day:)...

Happy Father's Day Daddy, Papa and Grandpa H! We had a great day and hope you all did too!!

R's Birthday Party

R is a lucky birthday girl each year! She has always had amazing weather for her parties and she did again this year! She asked to have a Hannah Montana theme party and it was a full day of Hannah fun... We had some pool fun...

Uncle D pushed the little ones on the swings...
The older girls drove the sarasota and golf cart around...

A pinata...

We forgot the bat and had to improvise with a croquet mallet

R's cake 'rocked'...

It was windy out so Daddy had to help keep the flame...
R was given wonderful presents...

R was joined by her wonderful family...
The pontune boat was running...

Thank you to all of our family that came over for the party, we hope you had as much fun as we all did!!!

Strawberry Picking

We went strawberry picking! Kind of funny how it came about. Well, we had a ton of rhubarb from Grandma & Papa's house(remember my picture). Most of the recipes I have to make recommend strawberry and rhubarb. I didn't want to pay the high prices at the grocery store so I decided we needed to pick our own!

I thought about taking three kids to the strawberry field myself and just wasn't sure of it. Not that they wouldn't do well, but that I had no idea what the conditions were. Was it going to be muddy or wet? Were we going to have to search for berries? So, I had a conversation with Grandma. It went something like this..
Me- "Mom, I made you a rhubarb crisp with the few strawberries I had. I also made rhubarb muffins, but can't make anything else because all my recipes call for strawberries too. I was thinking of taking the kids to the strawberry farm when Rylee gets done with class."
Mom-"when is class done?"
Me-"at *:**, a couple hours from now. I think we will make it a quick trip and then go home and cool off in the sprinkler".
Mom-"well, I could go with you guys and then we could come back for a swim at my house"
Me-"no, you don't have to do that. we aren't trying to make you go berry picking with us" (okay, yes I really wanted her to go berry picking with us) "or invite ourselves over to swim" (yes, we really did want to come swim too, it was hot out!)
Mom-"It sounds like fun, I would like to come with you guys. Plus, you should plan on staying for dinner. We can have the rhubarb crisp for dessert(which we did and it was delicious)"
Me-Sure, if you want to come with us you are welcome to, I'll pick you up before I get R"!

So off we went...

*Kg loves this dress. You will see it in many, many, many pictures on our blog this summer. It is the dress of the season. Last year she had a pink floral dress she wore all the time and when she loves a dress she wears it every day she can!

Not sure if the girl working at the strawberry farm is used to people taking pictures, but she offered to take a group shot! A little embarrassing, but worth it!

After berry picking we went to Grandma & Papa's to go swimming and for dinner! It was a nice evening, Daddy, Papa, Uncle D, Auntie L and H all joined us. The kids swam, went for rides with Papa on the Ranger and 4-Wheeler and ran freely in the openness! No pictures since I left my camera in the car. Thank you for a fun afternoon and evening Grandma!!

Fairies for Fairy Houses

I posted our fairy houses we made a bit back. Well, R and I were at the Dollar Store getting some party favors and she saw these fairies. She said we needed them to put by the fairy houses so the other fairies knew where to come. I couldn't say no to that!
R decided her fairy and house were perfect on a rock in the garden and they do look pretty!

Can you tell who this belongs to..our animal loving girl!

Kb thought the fairy should go in the house. We had been telling him they were fairy houses for the fairy's to live in so it makes perfect sense that this fairy would move in too!

Garden Goodies

I have wanted to put in a couple raised beds the last couple years, but just haven't wanted to deal with some of the aspects of them. Mainly, the keeping our kids out of it. The kids love to go to Grandma & Papa's house to water their garden and pick the veggies. It is great fun, out there, because I can take them home and let the garden rest! Grandma & Papa expanded this year to include pumpkins, gourds and squash so we don't have much need for our own garden..their garden produces more than two people can eat! Look at the goodies we came home with today! Lettuce for grilled chicken salads for dinner and rhubarb to make a ton of I don't know what!!

Rain Rain Stay Away

We have played Hugry Hungry Hippo, Brite Lite, Pretty Pretty Princess, Add A Bug and countless other games on these rainy days. We are ready for some sun and the playroom is ready for a pick up party...
but we had fun:)
