Dress Up Fun

I sometimes wonder when the kids will get tired of playing dress up. I wouldn't mind decreasing the large space we have for dress up clothes and accessories, but then they dress up so cute and I know I could never take that away from them! Who really needs a neat and tidy house anyways?!

Kg's Portrait of Papa

Kg drew a picture of Papa the other day. I think she did well for drawing it all on her own... I will interpet a bit. Next to his eyes are his ears. The line coming out of his nose is his mouth. He has all the necessary parts...two eyes, two ears, a mouth and a nose. Oh, ans some hair on the top that is hard to see!

Trip to the Zoo

Today R and Dh had to go to Children's for an appointment. They got home at the same time Kb, Kg and I arrived home from preschool and Kb's speech class. Dh gave us the good news that he didn't have to go back to work so we decided to take the kids to the zoo!
The zoo was empty! We ran into a friend of mine with her sister & kiddos and saw a couple other groups, other than that it was the zoo keepers and animals! It was definately early in the season at the zoo(we saw them putting out garbage cans for the season) so not many animals were out and ready to entertain. R actually asked if the kangaroos were dead because they didn't move...we assured her they were sleeping. It was nice to let the kids out to run around after two rainy days stuck inside!

The kids favorite area was by the giraffes. I know this is a shock that Kg loved the giraffes considering she sleeps with three stuffed giraffes and is constantly playing with the molded plastic ones she has!

We followed up our trip to the zoo with a stop at O&H for a kringle for dessert! Thank you for taking the afternoon off Daddy, we had fun:)

Elephant Zoo School

Kb and Kg had Elephant Zoo School this week! It was their first 3yr old class and they did great! A snapshot of our fun...
The teacher said elephants eat leaves and drink water using their trunks. Kg was pretending to eat leaves and Kb was using his trunk to pick up water.

Wearing their pretend trunks...

Kb doesn't do face painting, but was willing to get and elephant painted on his hand!
Kg loves face painting and was second in line!

Project fun!
Kg is a fan of animals and loved the elephants in the dirt. She could have spent the hour and a half playing right here....

Kb enjoyed the large elephant puzzle...

Very fun Zoo School class!

Dress Girl...

Kg is a fan of her dresses. She has been for a year now so it is just something we have come to accept and don't seem to bother questioning anymore. There is that occasional day that pants are a must. An early morning soccer game where it is very chilly outside is one of them. Well, this is Kg's solution to that...a dress over pants and a sweatshirt! At least the dress matches the sweatshirt:)
*we did not let her wear the dress for the game. Dressing like this at home in our yard is one thing, going to a public venue is another. I really could care less, dh does though.

Fun at Grandma's House

We had a fun morning with Grandma and H! They came here to play for a while this morning and then we went to Grandma's house to check on the guys that were planting some trees. We had a lot of fun...

the boys 'drove' the car(it doesn't work and is parked near the kids garden:)...

the kids 'practiced' their driving skills while parked...

Mommy tried for the self portrait of Kg and herself...

the kids had a snack and played so nicely at Grandma's table...

Thank you for another fun Tuesday morning Grandma!!

New Bikes!

Grandma & Grandpa H gave the kids new bikes for their birthdays! Kb and Kg for their 3rd birthdays in October..they waited to get them until this spring so they could enjoy them versus having them sit in the garage. Rylee got hers a couple months early for her 6th birthday coming up in June. Grandma H went shopping with us...
Kb was concentrating on pedling and refused to smile for a picture! At the store Kb went to the car bike and that was it, he was sold! He was riding like a pro in no time!

On the way to the store Kg said she was getting a Barbie bike. When we got there she sat on the Barbie bike until she saw the Princess bike and she changed her mind. She is a princess kind of girl(and she loves the tassles too)!

R fell in love with the dog bike right away, she was so excited and wouldn't look at any others! She is riding like a champ and loving having a bike that is the right size for her(she was still riding her old bike last week that her knees bump the handle bars on)!
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa H, we love our new bikes!!!! Yes, we wear our helmets just not for our initial ride...we couldn't wait the extra two minutes to get them out of the package..kids were out of the car and on their bikes seconds later!

Busy Week!

We have had a busy week here! In addition to all our usual things R had her first soccer game, first t-ball practice, an IEP evaluation and soccer pictures. We also had some fun..

Kb & Kg love picking dandelions from the neighbor's yard. We don't have many in our yard, which I'm sure will change in a few weeks. I don't want to put any fertilizer or chemicals on the grass. It seems that when we have in the past it is done on the nicest day of the week and then I am supposed to keep the kids off of it for 24hrs. Just not worth it...litter our grass with yellow weeds instead!
I also have mentioned to the kids that Neighbor S and Neighbor M like their pretty dandelions so we should really try to leave them in their yard and not bring them in to ours:)

I have realized that we really need to replace the screen on our patio door...I think Kb was tired of hearing me say, "shut the screen" for the fiftieth time this week that he just gave up on opening/closing it and went through the opening that was already there.

We had ice cream outside to celebrate Friday afternoon(and our all surviving the crazy week)...
I guess Kb's was cold! Kg's favorite treat are 'star popsicles' from Dairy Queen. We celebrated the warm weather with some blue popsicles we made in our molds earlier in the week, just no pictures to share.

We planted our first flowers of the year with Grandma!

R was so excited to plant the flowers, the other two didn't care so much. R is a natural gardener! She knows to masage the plant's roots and gets the dirt moist before planting. She really enjoys digging in the dirt!

It was a busy and fun week! We are looking forward to a relaxing weekend and then an even busier week next week. Same stuff plus a couple more appointments too...is it summer vacation yet?!

Lunch Date

I had a lunch date with Kb today! Kb has been sick the past few weeks. Not sick-sick, but he will start coughing and then he vomits. Yeah, gross and sorry to share so much info. Thing is, it has been happening more frequently lately and we were really concerned that he has seasonal allergies or something with the acid reflux issues he had as a baby. Well, I took him to the doctor today and it seems like it is most likely the seasonal allergies. Two weeks on Zyrtec and we will see if the symptoms clear up, we hope they do! Grandma was watching Kg(she had H today so Kg and H played together...very nicely she said:). I called to say we were heading home and she said she was feeding the other two lunch so Kb and I should go out to lunch together. It was so nice to spend some one on one time together. That is one thing we don't get a lot of...being twins Kb and Kg get a lot of two on one time instead. I didn't have my camera, but Auntie L taught me how to send pictures from my phone to my e-mail! Thank you Grandma, we enjoyed our lunch date!

On Grandma & Papa's Pond...

I am trying to loosen my grip on the kids and Grandma & Papa's pond. I am still afraid of someone falling in or wandering down to the water without an adult. Because of my fears I don't plan to let them out of my sight, but I will let them have some fun also...for now*!

Kb and Kg had fun throwing rocks in from the side wall... R went fishing from the driveway...

All three stood on the pier to take a look at the water...
*This year I vowed not to tell the kids that there are snakes in the pond that will 'chomp chomp' their toes. I know that isn't right(having Kyra run around with a rubber snake saying the snake says 'chomp chomp' instead of 'sss' last summer was a little embarassing). Well, I won't tell them that unless I see a snake on the pier or in the sand because once I do I will not step near the water until next spring...those water snakes are creepy!

R's PT Eval

R had her Physical Therapy evaluation today and she is doing great!! The combination of...
*the first botox injection in January
*night time stretching brace
*gymnastics
*soccer
*skill practice at home
...have paid off! Her feet were very close to equal in strength! She did amazing with her ball skills, skipping, galloping and such. She needs more practice with her right side on some of these skills, but we were told that R 'can hold her own' in a Kindergarten gym class. We were told that there was no reason to pull her out of class next year in Kindergarten for PT! We were given a few pointers and things to work on...
*have R sit and pick up marbles with her toes
*get her a Razor scooter to use instead of her three wheel one she was recommended to use last summer. This will help with her balance and get her ready to ride her bike without training wheels.
*practice her 'soccer stand' with her right foot on the ball

We are so proud of all your hard work R!!!

Miss You Millie

Millie was a very loved dog! R thought Millie was her own dog, when she actually was born years before her and was Grandma & Papa's. Mille had been sick for quite some time. We warned the kids that her days were limited and that she had cancer. Still didn't help make it easier when she passed.

On Easter R asked Papa to take her to see Millie so she could tell her Happy Easter and that she missed her. She asked if Millie was in heaven with Jesus and if she was getting her medicine there. We have assured her that Millie is feeling well and enjoying herself in heaven.
Papa took R and Kg to see Millie's headstone...

R is happy that Millie is buried next to Abby(Uncle D's dog) and that she can visit her headstone at Grandma & Papa's House.

Egg Hunt

Everyone has their own way of maneuvering an Easter Egg Hunt.... Kb analyzes the eggs t osee if they are the perfect ones.

Kg scans the yard to scout out where she will go next.

R collects as many eggs as she can until her basket is overflowing and she has to carefully place more in.

Thank you for a fun Easter Egg Hunt Grandma & Papa!
