Milwaukee Zoo

It was a beautiful day today, a perfect day for a trip to the zoo!  After R's church school we went to the Milwaukee Zoo...

New Bikes!

Grandma and Papa wanted to buy the kids new bikes for Christmas, but that didn't seem like good timing(plus we wanted Kb and Kg to be on two wheels before they got new bikes).  So, this week they got them new bikes as a Christmas/Easter present!

The kids got to go and pick out their new rides and they are all really cute!!!
*Kb and Kg are on each other's bikes

Thank you Grandma and Papa!!!

Shoe Shopping

Shoe shopping with our three is an adventure.  Three personalities and three styles ended with this....

comfort, fashion and practical...

:( Kg

We've been telling the girls for years to stop picking on Kb because one day he will be bigger than them and he will pay them back for the torture.  Well, Kg learned that the hard way this week.  Kb and Kg were fighting over a place to hide for a game of hide and seek.  Kb hit Kg in the face with a book(a stencil book with a binding).  The binder left the awful marks on her nose and the book hitting left the black eye:(  Poor Kg, she is really banged up.  Kb was punished, but I think Kg's punishment is far worse with the sore face...

Kb is riding on TWO WHEELS!!

On Sunday we were outside playing and the kids saw their neighborhood friend learning to ride his bike on two wheels.  Kg and Kb decided they were ready to learn too!  We started by taking one training wheel off on Sunday...
Kg and I were home on our own Monday night and she got the hang of it.  Kb saw her riding with no training wheels on Tuesday and he was anxious to learn!
Kb got the hang of it quick too, but he is much more cautious.  He will ride a bit, but then he goes to the grass and stops.  He is still getting comfortable on two wheels!
This may have bruised Kb's confidence a bit(my fault...I thought he was ready to be solo so I tried taping versus running along with him)...
I was to slow getting the camera going, but an idea of his riding...
We are so proud of you Kb!!

Kg is riding on TWO WHEELS!!

On Sunday we were outside playing and the kids saw their neighborhood friend learning to ride his bike on two wheels.  Kg and Kb decided they were ready to learn too!  We started by taking one training wheel off on Sunday...

On Monday night dh took R to her Vision Therapy appointment and Kb went along with them.  It was just Kg and I home so we decided to use this one on one to time try riding with no training wheels and Kg caught on right away!  Literally, a few passes on the sidewalk with me running along with her and she was on her own!!  Way to go Kg!!!!!
A few video clips of Kg riding on two wheels!

A Taste of Florida!

Thank you Grandma and Papa for sending a taste of Florida to us here!!!  We LOVED the monkey bread that arrived in the mail today:)

Thursday Outing - Milwaukee Zoo

After Kb's speech class Thursday morning we decided the rain was going to hold off and we decided to take in impromptu trip to the Milwaukee Zoo!  Awesome idea, it wasn't crowded and the weather was great...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Being that dh is half Irish and the kids are 1/4 Irish we love to celebrate St. Patty's Day!!
First is the attire... shirts, buttons, necklaces and of course, hair pretties for the girls...

R made a leprechaun house for school(it was an assignment.  Each 1st grader makes one, they put them on their desks in hopes of catching a leprechaun)!

We hosted St. Patty's Day with dh's family!  The kids had a blast and were so excited when their older cousins taught them how to play Ghost in the Graveyard!
Two cameras going off at the same time gives this effect...
Auntie is a goofball!  She took a ride(the basket was the perfect beer holder;)...

First Picnic Lunch of the Year!

Hop Scotch

Kb and I decided to make a hop scotch yesterday.  As I was about to start making a square he stopped me and said he would like to do it.  I let him go and he made a perfect hop scotch with numbers written in his squares for 1-7.  At 7 he said we had enough...no need to go to 10;)  I love his enthusiasm!

Off topic, but still sweet.  The other day a mom at gymnastics told he something that happened the week prior.  Her daughter, also 5, lost her first tooth.  She was showing Kb her missing tooth and she told him it fell out.  Kb told the girl, "you look beautiful" with her missing tooth.  The mom said it was so sweet and the girl loved it.  So sweet Kb:)

Exciting News!!!

Adrian's is OPEN for the season!!  If you like custard as much as our family this is BIG news!

Kg ate calamari!!!  We went to dinner Friday night and she chowed down on it, not knowing what it was.  Then she ate ham on Sunday! Our non-meat/seafood eater is becoming less picky!

Another Day of Fun Outside...

I started this post last week, but didn't get it finished.  It seems so odd to be calling this a warm day outside considering the 70 degree day we are having today!

R's Learning Fair Project

This year R decided she wanted to do her Learning Fair project about Dolphins of Florida.  Just like last year we let R think of her own project idea with no direction from us and she came up with another great idea!

R was so proud of her project!  She should be proud, she did a great job on it and presented it well!

Jr Vet Zoo School for Kb & Kg

This week Kb and Kg had Zoo School at the Milwaukee Zoo!  I had them all ready to go learn how to be Jr. Zoo Keepers...when we got there I realized they were in a Jr. Vet class.  I did a quick, "guess what Mom was wrong and your zoo school class got even better than a Jr. Zoo Keeper class, you get to learn to be a Veterinarian instead"!  It worked, they were psyched and LOVED it!!

They were so good in class we had to stop for ice cream(it was 40degrees out;)...

The kids have been playing Veterinarian with their stuffed animals since class. R asked where her Jr. Vet kit was from when she went to the class.  I had to break it to her that she didn't go to Jr. Vet, she went to Jr. Zoo Keeper(hence my mix up!).  I see myself making a third 'kit' up this weekend!
