Real and Not Real....we are reaching that age:(

On Saturday R had a Girl Scout Outing.  We went to the Racine Theatre Guild to see how a play is put together(make up, stage fighting and acting).  On the way in the girls had a conversation about the Easter Bunny and others.  It went something like this.

M:  I'm pretty sure the Easter Bunny is real.  I think Jack Frost and the Tooth Fairy are too, but I'm not sure.  Santa is definately real.

R:  Oh, Santa is real for sure.  Jack Frost and the Tooth Fairy are real too.  But I think there are a lot of Easter Bunnies, one on each continent.

Silence while five 8yr old girls think about this all.

Me: So who is excited to see the play today!  Subject changed:)  Please, please give us another year of believing because I'm not ready for that conversation:(

On another note.  At the Girl Scout outing R was picked to have 'stage makeup' put on.  She was a burn victim....

The makeup artist said burn victims aren't happy so a smile would be akward...hence the weird look on R's face!

Pancakes and the Easter Bunny!

We went to a local pancake breakfast on Sunday and the Easter Bunny was there!

Kb was excited to see him up close after his sisters agreed to first....

R didn't want to see him at first because she said he wasn't the real one.  She said it was just someone in a costume:(  She finally went to say hi....

Kg was all about going to see the Easter Bunny. First thing she said to him, "do you go to Florida on Easter?"...she is worried he won't find her!

Tea Party

This girl knows how to host a tea party!  She said she had to get the table set up before I could come site down.  She had tea and cookies all ready to go.  She did say she needed her real tea set out because the cups seemed tiny(I thought it was cute and didn't want to tell her we were using American Girl Molly's tea set;)....

River Bend / St. Patty's Day!

Our friends C, C and H met us for breakfast at River Bend for their pancake breakfast and maple syrup tree tapping/making tour!  C and H's mom had to work...we missed you, C!  

Inside they had a display area with animal pelts, furs and artifacts you could look at.  The kids LOVED it...

 It is the perfect size shawl for H:)...

We did have our traditional Irish dinner!  Dh did a fabulous job cooking up the corned beef, cabbage with carrots, leaks and potatoes.  Thank you for making reubens for me too because I just am not a fan of good ol corned beef!

Train Show

A flyer came home about a free train show in a local town last weekend.  We decided to go check it out and I'm glad we did!  Kb LOVED it, R really liked it and Kg liked the pink train and winter scene...

Learning Fair at School

The kids had the opportunity to participate in the Learning Fair at school!  

R has done this in Kindergarten and 1st Grade so Kb & Kg had an idea of how this worked.  

They all chose their own project themes...

R chose Kit, the American Girl

Kb chose the Solar System

Kg chose Horses, how to care for and ride them

They all did a great job on their projects and were excited to earn medals!!!

Snow Fun

We have had sporadic amounts of snow here, but when we get some the kids enjoy it!

Pinkalicious Play

Grandma is home for a few weeks!  She went with the girls and I to see Pinkalicious at First Stage!

It was really a cute play and a fun day!  Lunch, play and dessert at a local coffee shop:)  Thank you for spending it with Grandma!!
