Bean Names & Letters

I'm having a hard time getting Kb & Kg interested in learning to write letters. They would rather color and craft than do such 'work'...they are still three so I am not that suprised. I have been trying new ways to reinforce the letters they are learning in preschool and to get them practicing their letter writing skills. This week we made lettters w/beans...

They both really liked writing with glue over the letters on the paper. Putting the beans in place just wasn't as exciting, but they did a great job 'writing letters' with glue!

Kg's Dance Class

Kg took an adorable 2yr old ballet class last year, but she wasn't interested in full ballet for 3yr olds. She went back to gymnastics and this summer asked about dance again. This fall she is trying out ballet/tap class and the first class was a hit! She is getting ready... After class...
To top it off, you get a cookie after class for a job well done!! Oh, and one for your brother who is waiting for you:)

Campground Halloween & Closing

Camping Season has come to an end:( We had a great season of camping and were sad to say goodbye until spring.

We did enjoy the 'Campground Halloween' weekend!! It was supposed to be dh's fishing weekend with the guys so we did a little family fishing too!

Kg was being silly!
R was looking at all the signs trying to sound out the words!

Kb was helping Daddy get ready to fish!
We Have Worms!!!Ugh, the worms. I am not a fan, at all. I like fishing, but normally have two stipulations. 1.I don't touch worms. I will put any non-living lure on a hook, just not live worms. I was excited to see the kids willing to hold them for me! I tried having the kids hold the worm so I could put the hook on, but quickly realized I would have to touch them too. It was gross, but if three and six year olds can do it, I guess I can too...
The worm in full view!
I think they spent as much time looking at the worms as they did fishing!
The extra worms came back to the camper with us and were released in the grass(after a minor freak out on my part when I found the container in the kids bedroom...all I could envision were little wax worms that look like maggets all over the camper)!
The kids loved fishing!
Kg normally doesn't get to excited about fishing at Grandma & Papa's house. Today, she loved fishing!
R and Kb were enjoying fishing as usual!

The water was high and moving fast, but we caught three fish...

Kg loved holding the fish...
Kb, who usually loves holding the fish, freaked out about holding the fish in his bare hands(he wanted his sweatshirts over his hands to hold it)...
R loved holding the fish too...

The kids took turns carrying around the fish...

After fishing the kids played...

Since this was supposed to be dh's fishing weekend with the guys we let him get some fishing in once the kids left to play on the playground. He did pretty well with a Barbie and Cars fishing poles!
This is the second fishing spot we planned to go to. Notice all the cows, well dh didn't think we should go in. For some reason he didn't trust our kids to not try to pet all of them!
Dad played basketball with us...

The bounce pillow wasn't full of kids so mom bounced with us...

Went Campground Trick or Treating and Handed Out Candy...

We went on a Haunted Hayride...

Looking forward to more camping fun in 2011!

Greatest Compliment!

Today I dropped R off at school. As I did her teacher saw me and asked if she could talk with me a minute. My first thought was, what did R do wrong. I know I shouldn't jump to the negative, but lets face it...most conversations that start that way are not so great. Well, R's teacher told me how great R is doing in school(which she has told me in notes and e-mails already) and gave me the best compliment I could ever hear about our little girl... she said, "R is such a nice girl and she really enjoys having her in her class"! Now, some may think that hearing their child is so smart or that they are very athletic is the greatest compliment(these are examples-not anything to do with R). Not for dh and I...for us it is so nice to hear that when our child leaves us and goes in to the world that she is nice to others and enjoyable to be around! I am so happy to hear that R is not a bully or sassy when we are not around to correct her(not that I thought she was)! Greatest compliment!! Now, lets see if Kb and Kg can go to Kindergarten and get the same compliment...then we will know it has something to do with our parenting and not just R's good nature:)

Exercise Ball...

I haven't used this exercise ball for actual exercise in years. Kb & Kg sure had fun with it though...
