Starting to Feel Like Christmas...

It's starting to feel like Christmas around here! We have the house decorated inside... and out...

Now we just need to get our Christmas tree out of the box and up! Oh, and figure out what type of lights it has, multi or white? Anyone know what we bought on clearance last year? Neither dh or I can recall...

Happy Thanksgiving

We have so much to be thankful for this year. One of the many things we are thankful for are our families. We had a wonderful day Thursday celebrating with both of our families. Everyone was able to get together and enjoy some time together. I forgot to take pictures of our get together with dh's family. We were enjoying our day so much I just didn't think to grab the camera from the car, sorry!

One of the kids favorite parts of the day was dessert..twice!

We hope everyone else also had a wonderful day with family and/or friends!

First Snow

We woke up Thanksgiving morning to our first snowfall! The kids couldn't wait to get outside and play in it. We dug out the snowpants and boots for some outdoor fun!

Sadly, barely after we came inside the snow was gone. We are looking forward to our next snowfall to get outside again(we can wait a little while though:)

Holiday Decorating Idea/Balls & Baskets

My mom gave me a great idea for decorating outside this year. She suggested I use my flower baskets and put evergreen branches and large ornament balls in them. We cut the branches from her yard and also added some red branches from a shrub(type??). I didn't get very good pictures, but here is the idea...
I also decorated my wagon w/lights, greenery and the ornament balls. Once I am done decorating I will post a picture. I think it is going to look really cute, thanks for the idea mom!

While the Deer Hunters are Away...

While Daddy, Papa, Uncle D and Auntie L go out of town deer hunting, we keep busy and have a lot of fun! Grandma, Mommy, R, Kb, Kg and H...

Trim some branches(next post:)...

R's School Success

I am so overjoyed that I just had to post! R has some difficulties in school, no suprise since I have shared that before. Well, R's teacher told me this morning that she tested R on her letter recognition and she could only tell her 5 of the 26. I said that was odd, she knows more than that. Well, her teacher spoke with R's OT about it and got a suggestion of another way to test her. I just opened her backpack and found a note. Her teacher retested her today, with a different method, and R knew 22 of the 26!!! I am so thankful that R has a teacher that understands her and is willing to go above and beyond to make sure she is learning. I hope that we can have such wonderful teachers all her years of school...

Photo Shoot With R

While Kb and Kg napped today R wanted to start putting our winter decorations outside. She has the itch thanks to the neighbors with lights on and Grandma & Papa doing some decorating already. First she put out the sleigh, then she went and got the ice skates to hang on it. She told me she was going to get my camera to take a picture. Well, she put her kitty and bunny in place and sat down. She then said, "Mommy take a picture of kitty, bunny and me...cheese"! I told her thus would make the perfect Christmas card if we could photo shop Kb and Kg in kitty and bunny's places:)

Green Bay

We had a great weekend in Green Bay! We went to dinner at a great Irish restaurant... We went to the Packer Game!! Amazingly we arrived early enough to see the teams warm up(this is rare for us..we are the arrive minutes before kick off people)...

Everyone has their own opinion of Farve. Some still love him and some just can't support him anymore. This season we have seen people wear Farve Green Bay jerseys, Farve Minnesota jerseys, Farve jerseys with the #4 crossed out w/tape and this week we saw this...

It was a really fun weekend! Thank you to the Grandma's for watching our kids so we could spend a weekend in Green Bay!

Creative Kids...

I am behind on my blogging!
We were having fun outside with tunnels last week one day. I told the kids it was time to come inside so R could get ready for gymnastics. While I went in to get R's leotard out the kids followed with tunnels in hand and created this 'tunnel course'. I snapped a quick photo because I wasn't sure dh would believe me when I told him. I then told them to stop before someone broke an arm.
Well, they did stop and they moved on to this...

I still had the camera in my pocket and snapped a picture. I then tossed the tunnel outside again!

Letter P

P is for... Pumpkin seeds! I let the kids free with a bottle of glue and a bowl of pumpkin seeds. It was a fun snack and project. I especially like how they all had their own agenda for their design. R is first...she was very precise and put a row of seeds all over.
Kb is second and didn't want a lot of seeds on the curve part
Kg is third...she liked clustering the seeds

Letter O

O is for.... Orange Octopus(yes, I know they really aren't orange, but it was a cute idea:)

Turkey Disguise

R brought this really cute project home from school. She was to disguise a plain turkey pattern. Ideas were sent home such as a pilgrim, a snowman, farmer, Hello Kitty, Superman...you get it. R decided she wanted a princess turkey and then more specifically Sleeping Beauty Turkey. We set out with our inspirations that R picked out(Sleeping Beauty shoe, dress and Christmas ornament with a picture)...
I opened the craft closet and let R go. She wanted glitter on the the dress like the dress she was looking at did(gold and red were chosen). She also wanted a crown, a necklace and some beeds on the dress. Oh, and we can't forget the flowers for shoes(heels are pretty hard to make, so we improvised:) I think the turkey turned out great!

If you are wondering if mom helped at all, well I did a little. I traced the turkey pattern for her to cut out of pink paper for the dress. I made the crown out of pipe cleaner and helped cut a couple pieces or hair. Other than that, it was R's work! I am blogging this so I have a record of it to repeat with all three kids next November!

**Teachers out there..They read "A Plump Turkey" by Teresa Bateman w/the project**

Wonderful Weather

We have loved this wonderful weather this weekend!!! Here is a little recap of our fun(working backwards from Sunday-Friday).

We helped Grandma & Papa get some of their Christmas decorations and lights out. By helped I mean we distracted them and ran around playing(mom and dad did put a few stands of light up to help:). Papa gave Kb and Kg rides on the ranger. Good thing that it has seatbelts since they don't want to sit on anyones lap anymore...
Daddy let R drive the ranger(by drive I mean she was steering while he was controlling the gas)...

We went to the MLW Zoo!
We saw the fish...
The orange fish was R's favorite...

Kb was loving all the tanks. He kept making 'fish sounds' to the fish. Meaning puckering his lips and moving them like a fish does...
I don't have pictures because I am to freaked out to even think of that, but Kg went to see the snakes. She is usually a little fearful of them, but not today. She was ssss, ssss to them. Me, well a little girl stepped on my foot and I jumped so high and almost screamed thinking a snake got out. Yep, I was pretty embarrassed!

Kg did a great job walking throughout the zoo today! She did get a little treat(sprite) while walking...
Our not so energetic two were happy to get a ride...

And what trip to the zoo is complete without a carousel ride(and everyone smiled for pictures:)...

We had a picnic lunch with Grandma on Saturday. Kb napped through our picnic. He fell asleep in the car and went up for an early nap. He had his own picnic lunch a little later! We picnic'd under R's tree...

Kb & Kg loved wearing their super cute backpacks while playing. They got them for their birthday from Grandma & Papa...I think they are ready to start preschool, which makes me a little sad...

oops, it's upside down!
We rode scooters and bikes...
Peddle, peddle, peddle!!!
R's puppy was set with a sweatshirt and hat too!

It was a great weekend, I really hope we get at least one more warm weather weekend before winter sets in!
