Dh's First Country Concert!

Yes, you read the title right. After almost nine years of marriage I took dh to his first country music concert! He prefers to go to Oz/Mayhem Fest heavy metal type(did I even spell those right?) concerts. He did actually enjoy it! He knew almost all of the songs Darius Rucker's sang because I play the cd that much. Or should I say he knew all of Darius Rucker's songs, he didn't know the couple country songs he sang that weren't his..even though he still should have, they were classics!
Rascal Flatts were good to, but Darius Rucker was a tough act to follow. He was really, really good! It was fun to see them all sing together too.
To top off our great night, Auntie Snooky and Uncle Stinkerpants took our three kids over night!!! Uncle Stinkerpants took R to see M's basketball game while Auntie hung out with Kb and Kg. The kids went to bed really well and were for the most part pretty good(or so they told us)! A HUGE thank you for watching the kiddos for us! I don't have any pictures to share, R forgot she brought her camera.

'Heat Wave'

We enjoyed our 'heat wave' this week(it was in the 30's)!! Not only was it nice outside, we could see the sand in the sandbox. I would say that was not a great thing because I had to wash jackets and snowpants every day, but the kids loved it...

R found a live bug, she was excited to show me!

All three were so excited to dig in the sand. Show how loonnng winter is here! They miss the sight and feel of the sand...

Daddy helped Kg swing on the rings!

Skittle Letters

Today while H was visiting us we decided to do a little 'skittle craft' as Kg likes to call them. We spelled out our names with skittles! It was fun and yummy at the same time! We are working on letter recognition and I am getting ready to start working on writing letters with Kb and Kg...I am slow moving on this I know.
*not to many skittles were ate in the process:)

A Trip North...

We went to visit Auntie Snooky, Uncle Stinkerpants, B and M this weekend! We went to see the girls play basketball.... The kids sat really well for the first game and then got restless during the second. It was fun to see how much B and M have grown in their basketball skills!

M was the fashion coordinator for the the kids. She gave Kg a makeover...
I told Kg to 'strike a pose' and this is what she did! It was hilarious!

If you can't tell, she is wearing M's shirt as a dress and has her hair done up. Thank you for entertaining the kids M(B got lucky and had a birthday party to go to so we didn't get to see much of her)! Thank you for letting us come and visit...we had fun:)

Kb's Speech

Kb has been making great strides with his speech! Last night at bedtime I was reading Kg her stories while Dh was reading to Kb. Dh came in to get us, went in to Kb's room and he said something new. He looked at the light and said, "on please" with a strong emphasis on the N in ON. He then looked at the light that was on and said, "off please" with a stong emphasis on the F in OFF. He spoke very clearly and put the two words together. We are so happy to see him saying more words and putting two or three words together! Way to go Kb!!!
**This picture is from today when we were playing hide n seek. R taught Kb to hide in the buffet. Not an ideal hiding spot, but creative.

Snow, Snow and More Snow!

We had a lot of snow fall here this week! While R was in school; Kb, Kg and I went out to play!

My little helpers shoveled...
made snowballs...

and snow angels...

played in the snow with some animals...

and went 'sidewalk sledding'...

When R got home from school, dh and I took the kids to a local hill for some sledding. It was a lot of fun!

I'm good with the snow now. Spring can come anytime!

Really?

Really, it's February? Huh, wouldn't know that here... I guess Kb & Kg are meant to be in Florida already!

R Lost Tooth #2!

Dear Tooth Fairy,

Please leave my tooth here at my house and please leave me a baby doll. I'm just kidding, but I would rather have coins than paper money.

Love,
R

*This is R's letter to the tooth fairy. She was insistant that the tooth fairy not take her tooth. She doesn't want it made into tooth fairy dust...

Edible Art Dough

At the convention last week I found a book; Mudworks by MaryAnn F. Kohl. I decided to try out one of the recipes for edible art dough with the kids on Friday. Well, it didn't go as smoothly as I planned... Kg was upset I took the flour away from her...

After she did this to her brother...

And the Kitchen...

R decided to guard the dough while I cleaned up...
Once everything was clean and we had some time to let the dough refrigerate we made some letters...
I think this is an outside project next time. Lesson learned...

Disney Princess on Ice

Grandma purchased tickets back in August for R, Kg and I to go see Disney Princess on Ice with her this weekend. It was a great show and we all loved it! We were sitting in the second row right off the ice. We couldn't have gotten any closer than we were. Kg was mesmorized and R was thrilled. What an amazing show...
R told me she wasn't going to dress up as a princess, but Kg was definately ready to be Snow White!

Thank you Grandma for a wonderful day!!!
