Fishing

The weather was gorgeous today!  When dh and I got home from our overnight away we packed up the kids and went out on a fishing adventure!  We went to a fishery where the pond is stocked(so many fish!)...

I just don't understand kids infatuation with worms!  These were fat night crawlers(eww!!)...

Not my proudest Mom moment today.  Conversation with R...
Mom-"R hold the worm and I'll put the hook on the worm, you hold it"
R-"Okay Mom, hook the worm"
Mom-screaches, squirming
R-"Mom put the hook in, it's okay, just do it!"
Mom-more squirming, screaching..."R, Dad is going to have to do it, I just can't"
R-rolls her eyes and sighs(not really, but I could sense her irritation with me and I think if she was a few years older she would have!).
In the end, Dh put the worm on!

Not all girls can pull off fishing in a red coat and sparkle skirt!  Actually, Kg said she would only fish if she could wear her red coat, not a sweatshirt!
 Kb loves fishing!

Who's having more fun, dh or Kb:)...

The kids settled in to watch the fish be cleaned...

I really enjoy seeing the kids share dh's love of fishing!  It is a nice way to spend an afternoon(as long as I don't have to touch any worms or fish;)

Blue Paint

We were working on a project for Grandma's and learned a lesson...

'washable' blue paint isn't all that washable!

10th Anniversary

10 years ago if someone had asked me where I would be today I would have said that I would be happily married to dh, teaching and hopefully we would be blessed with children!
I had no idea how blessed we would be!  As I thought dh and I are happily married and we are so very blessed with three wonderful children!  I am not teaching in a classroom right now, but I feel like I am where I am meant to be.  Being home with the kids is such a blessing and a joy.  I do plan to return to teaching when Kb and Kg start Kindergarten so I wasn't so far off.

To celebrate our 10 year anniversary dh and I went to a nearby Bed & Breakfast outside Lake Geneva.  It was so quaint, no television, internet or phones.  We loved it and had a wonderful time, definately a place we will visit again!
Happy 10th Anniversary Dh, looking forward to many more!

Date with Kg

I had to run a couple errands Wednesday night.  Dh suggested that I take one of the kids with me for some one on one time.  Kg has been in a bit of a funk lately, just not herself..a bit sassy and fiestier than usual.  I thought she could use some mommy/Kg time!  We ran our errands and I asked if she wanted to go to Noodles & Co. for dinner.  She said, that she really wanted to go to the 'grapes on top' restaurant and I couldn't argue with that!

It was nice to go out to dinner together, chat, color and just hang out one on one with Kg at the Olive Garden!  Thank you for a fabulous evening Kg!

Downtown Kenosha Day

We had planned to have some friends over to craft and play today, but the rainy day ruined that.  The kids were bummed, they were looking forward to painting and playing with friends so I knew I better come up with something fun to do.  What can we do that is fun, inexpensive and indoors?  Head to Downtown Kenosha!

Kb, Kg and I went a while back and had a great day!  Grandma had H for the day because he is on Spring Break also so we asked them to come along!
First stop, the Kenosha Museum...
The kids checked out the exhibits and the hands on area.  I felt bad for R though, being six she has different interests and attention span than her 4yr old siblings and 3yr old cousin.  At one point R asked if she could please go look at more things.  The other three were willing to look, but not for long.  I think R needs a visit to the Milwaukee Museum where she can take an adult and go on her own if she wants so she doesn't have to go at the 4yr old pace!
We walked out of the museum, the rain had stopped and the sun peaked out!

We waited a few minutes and got on the trolley...

The schedule on the trolley said the Dinosaur Discovery Museum opened at 9am so we got off and went there next.  It was 11:40 and once we got to the doors we saw it opened at noon.  Of course, it got cloudy and felt like it was going to start raining.  Thankfully it didn't because I had put the umbrellas in the car!
After the Dinosaur Museum we went to Trolley Dog for lunch!  Kb and Kg were so excited to go there for lunch again.  They loved the ketchup bottle that squirted string(sadly, someone walked off with it so he didn't have one today), the balloon animals and of course, corn dogs!

Three swords and one puppy dog later we headed home.
Once home it was nice out so we had some time to ride bikes, scooters, plasma cars and the pink car.  What started as an unhappy day because we had to cancel our plans turned out to be a very fun day!  Oh, and we got to break out our spring coats because it actually felt like spring!!

The Perfect Group Picture

Every holiday I try for the perfect group picture of the kids.  Some holidays go better than others.  Today was, well look for yourself...

No, the rake isn't supposed to be in the picture...
Look like you love being hugged by your siblings...
 Hmm...
 Getting goofy...
 Cheese!!!
Izzy is not a pillow for the picture...
 At least they had fun!

Happy Birthday Grandpa H!

We celebrated Grandpa H's Birthday today!  R asked if he was 19(the number of candles on the cake:)...
I like this picture of Grandpa H, enjoying his "Happy Birthday" song...
The kids enjoyed helping blow out the candles!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful day with our families today!  It was so nice to enjoy the sunshine and family.  Sometimes we don't give the completely proper explanations to our kids(Jesus having two dads, God and Joesph could have been explained differently I suppose) and Easter is one of those explanations.  Today we celebrated Jesus's Re-Birthday, Easter!

Our day in pictures(LOTS of pictures)....

The Easter Bunny hid our eggs and baskets!  Kb and R are showered and dressed while Kg is still in pajamas.  Dh and I went out for dinner with some friends last night and the kids didn't get to bed until late(thank you for letting the kids come visit Grandma H!).  Kb was up at 7:30, R just after 8.  To hold them off until Kg got up we had them shower and get dressed.  Finally at 9am we told them to go wake Kg up and tell her the Easter Bunny had visited last night!

We had lunch at Grandma & Papa's with Uncle D, Auntie L and H!  An Easter Egg Hunt(thank you for hiding the eggs Grandma & R and for filling all the eggs Grandma:), kite flying with the kites Grandma & Papa gave the kids for Easter, Gator/Ranger rides and just a relaxing enjoyable afternoon!

Kg with shoes running for eggs...
The shoes were holding Kg back so when they fell off she just kept going!
Kb was so careful!  When an egg came apart he put it back together before putting it in his basket...

 H with a full bucket!
 R with a full basket!
 Kg sneaking some candy!

Who needs to walk to finish looking for eggs, driving is so much faster;)

The kids are almost to big to all fit with Papa for a ride!
 Kb loves Papa's binoculars!

Good thing buckets don't sink to fast, thank you for fishing it out of the water Uncle D!

We had dinner at Grandma & Grandpa H's!  It was nice to visit with B, J, H, C, J, Uncle N and Aunt K for a bit!  The kids had so much fun playing with B & M!  It was nice to relax and enjoy visiting with everyone!
Grandma and Grandpa gave the kids color bubbles and bubble blowers for Easter!  I've heard they are very messy and they definately are!  But they are also very fun, the kids LOVED them(I think B and M had some fun too:)!

 Kg was having a blast!

At first, Kb, didn't like getting the color bubbles on him. After washing off he came back out ready to get messy!

I wish this picture wasn't blurry, R was laughing and having so much fun!

The position the kids had to stand in to walk inside, "hands up-don't touch anything and head straight to the shower"!  If you're wondering...yes the bubbles wash out of clothes and skin really easily!!
I see swimsuits, a sprinkler and colorful bubble wars in the backyard this summer!

Thank you to our parents for hosting Easter!  We had a great day and enjoyed seeing all of our family that were able to spend the day with us!!
