Chicago

Ready to board!  On the Metra, Kg said it goes a lot faster than the Polar Express Train!
Getting off the Metra...

We took a water taxi from the Metra station to Michigan Ave(water was to choppy to take all the way to the Shedd)...
Kb was yelling, "I have to pee" so he looks a little unhappy.  I said, "one picture and we will find a bathroom".  Looking back, that was pretty mean of me, but it is nice to have a picture of all of us instead of a missing family member who is taking the picture of everyone else;)

We were very lucky that Mommy's friend gave us tickets to get in the Shedd(thank you Tammy:)) so we didn't have to wait in the hour long line!  Some pictures of our visit...

We then made a stop at the American Girl Store(Kb & Kg's first visit there!)...

Kb said it was a girl store and he didn't have much interest in it.  Kg LOVED it!  We have said you can't get an AG until you are six(that is when R got her first).  R has said that Kg can get one at five, that she is okay with that(R wants someone to play AG with her and so she needs Kg to get one!).  Kg did leave with a AG pony which she has named Taco...
Kg looked so cute and proud carrying the shopping bag out of the store!

We told R she could pick out an outfit or something.  She chose a minature Kirsten(spell?) doll since Kirsten has retired and the big doll is no longer available in the store...
It was a long and fun day, Kb was exhausted!
We had a great day!  First water taxi ride for all three, first cab ride for Kb & Kg, first trip to Shedd for Kb & Kg(first that R remembers..she was young on her first trip) and a trip to American Girl(next time we will go to a boy store for Kb!)!  To top it off, we had great weather!!!

Downtown Kenosha Day

We had planned to have some friends over to craft and play today, but the rainy day ruined that.  The kids were bummed, they were looking forward to painting and playing with friends so I knew I better come up with something fun to do.  What can we do that is fun, inexpensive and indoors?  Head to Downtown Kenosha!

Kb, Kg and I went a while back and had a great day!  Grandma had H for the day because he is on Spring Break also so we asked them to come along!
First stop, the Kenosha Museum...
The kids checked out the exhibits and the hands on area.  I felt bad for R though, being six she has different interests and attention span than her 4yr old siblings and 3yr old cousin.  At one point R asked if she could please go look at more things.  The other three were willing to look, but not for long.  I think R needs a visit to the Milwaukee Museum where she can take an adult and go on her own if she wants so she doesn't have to go at the 4yr old pace!
We walked out of the museum, the rain had stopped and the sun peaked out!

We waited a few minutes and got on the trolley...

The schedule on the trolley said the Dinosaur Discovery Museum opened at 9am so we got off and went there next.  It was 11:40 and once we got to the doors we saw it opened at noon.  Of course, it got cloudy and felt like it was going to start raining.  Thankfully it didn't because I had put the umbrellas in the car!
After the Dinosaur Museum we went to Trolley Dog for lunch!  Kb and Kg were so excited to go there for lunch again.  They loved the ketchup bottle that squirted string(sadly, someone walked off with it so he didn't have one today), the balloon animals and of course, corn dogs!

Three swords and one puppy dog later we headed home.
Once home it was nice out so we had some time to ride bikes, scooters, plasma cars and the pink car.  What started as an unhappy day because we had to cancel our plans turned out to be a very fun day!  Oh, and we got to break out our spring coats because it actually felt like spring!!

Field Trip Friday-The Domes

We took a trip to the Milwaukee Domes!  They had the train show(perfect for Kb) and Fairy Tales (perfect for Kg).  Plus kids 5 and under are free!

It was a nice visit, except Kb & Kg must have taken whiney pills today:/  Seriously, they were not on their best behavior.  Grandma had mentioned that she wanted to check out the Domes so she came with us today!

A few pictures...

Kg wanted to know why Cinderella's step sisters and step mother weren't there....

Checking out the 'slimey rock' as they called it!

Kg said her favorite was the desert dome, Kb said his favorite was the train dome!

Milwaukee Zoo

Spring is definately in the air when you can take a trip to the zoo and have a picnic lunch outside while there!!
