This year we went south!
We left at 4:30am Monday...
Louisville
Louisville Slugger Museum stop on our way down.
Mammoth Caves
We hiked, nighttime cave tour, stayed in a quaint cabin in the park. The cave tour was the Star Chamber tour. We honked in the caverns by lanterns. We were a group of 40 with two guides. It was a great tour, but a bit scary for the kids because we went deeper inside and were told of old hauntings! Our cabin was perfect for a night and right in the park by the trails and caves. We saw some deer by our cabin too!
Tuesday
We hiked Mammoth a bit then went to the Smokey Mountains.
We stayed in a great cabin in between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Hiked to Grotto Falls and some other areas, mountain coasters, zip-lining over the Smoky and Appalachian Mountains and went to Dollywood. We would go back to the Smokys!
Friday we drove to Nashville.
Aaron Lewis Concert, Walk of Fame stars, amazing stay at the Gaylord Hotel. Nashville isn't kid friendly. We went to Margaritaville to see The Highway(R's want to do in Nashville). Great quick visit!
Saturday we drove to Florida. It was a LONG drive to Florida. We pulled in to our condo about 12:30am. We had a great week getting settled(it was our first stay in our condo we purchased in December), doing some shopping, visiting a couple beaches and the community pool. The forecast called for rain every day, but we only had a lot of rain on Thursday! We went to the Imaginarium Science Center for the day.
Friday we drove to Tampa for the final leg of our trip. Flights from Ft. Myers had to many stops and were expensive so we decided to take a drive north to fly out and spend a day at Busch Gardens.
