Long weekend at Universal Studios

I was supposed to take the kids and my nephew, H, to visit my parents over Christmas break.  Well, Mother Nature intervened with an ice storm so we weren't able to fly out.  Dh and I found cheap airfare to Orlando and the kids had a day off school so we went to Universal Studios for a long weekend.

Last year on Spring Break we spent one day at Universal.  We tackled both parks, during spring break busy season, in one day.  We didn't see it all we knew.  This time we had plenty of time!

Thursday it rained.  All.Day.  Sounds awful, but it was perfect!  The park was empty and we went on Gringotts Bank over and over.  Then we took the train to the Isand of Adventure park and went on Forbidden Challenge and Dragon Challenge over and over.  It was perfect!  The only wait all day was for the Simpson ride(we waited 20 minutes).

Friday was a little busier, but not much.  Saturday was the Celebration of Harry Potter and the parks were busier. Not Spring Break busy, but busier.

We had a great trip and we will be back!  At home, we are reading the Harry Potter books together-we are on Chapter 3 of Book 1.
